NEW GLOUCESTER — Keith Hill Larson, the library guy, rock boy who loved his log dog, joyful dancer, peace activist and gardener extraordinaire, ascended up to heaven on his personal sit n’ spin hovercraft on Thursday, July 14, taking off one final time from his home in New Gloucester.

He is survived by his wife, Kathryn; daughters, Lydia and Melody; sister, Laurie; brother, Scott; faithful dog, Al; and many loving nieces and nephews.

With his profound strength and lifelong sense of humor, Keith battled the storm of cancer with the help of his loving family and loyal community. Keith’s legacy is that of a planter of seeds: The physical seeds laid down in his carefully tended garden, but also the seeds of love and peace sown through the stories he told and his infectious zeal for life and laughter. As a school librarian at Memorial Elementary School in New Gloucester, he inspired a love of reading in the children who came to his library.

We will love, honor and miss him always and he will live on in our hearts and memory, until we all meet again one day in a beautiful garden.
