BUCKFIELD — Filmmaker Michael Miclon of Buckfield will show the final cut of “Richard3” at 7 p.m. Saturday, July 23, at Buckfield High School auditorium.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets cost $7 and will be sold at the door.

The film is a comedic adaptation of William Shakespeare’s “Richard III.”

Thirteen members of the cast and crew are alumni of the Buckfield High School Drama Club and were vital to the completion of the film.

The film was shot on location throughout Maine, from Fort Popham in Phippsburg to the former St. Patrick’s Church in Lewiston. Only Maine actors were cast, all of whom were classically trained physical comedy stage performers.

The film is Miclon’s directorial debut, and he is also the screenwriter and lead actor. Over 300 extras from all over Maine and New Hampshire were included. 

Production began in the summer of 2012. After two years of preproduction and a successful fundraising campaign through Kickstarter, Miclon and his team completed the film. In June 2013, he showed the first-cut version to a sold-out crowd of 428 at the Emerge Film Festival.
 
“Richard3? was created with a budget of $65,000.
 
This films stars Mike Miclon, Fritz Grobe, Amanda Huotari, Matt Tardy, Casey Turner, Jason Tardy, Hannah Perry, George Dunn, Bruce Johnson, Davis Robinson, Leland Faulkner, Skyler Crean, Jed and Eli Allen, and Nick Salvati.
