1939 – 2016
CANTON — Lozenie May Greenough, 77, of Canton passed away Sunday, July 17 at Victorian Villa (Pinacle Health & Rehab) in Canton.
She was born on Aug. 6, 1939 in Sandy River Plantation, the daughter of Elwin and Arlene Barker. She attended school in Phillips and went on to work in local shoe shops and factories for most of her life. Before her retirement in the late 1980’s she was self employed at Greenough’s Rubbish Removal.
Lozenie was a member of the Phillips Methodist Church and The Grange as a child. She enjoyed singing, dancing, music, cards, riding motorcycles, camping, knitting, crocheting and doing anything social.
Lozenie is survived by her four daughters, Chiquita Swiney of Madrid, Wendy Lovejoy and husband, Patrick, of Phillips, Naomi Oliver and her husband, Charles, of Farmington, and Terry Turner and her husband, Mark, of Norway; her stepson, James Greenough and wife, Linda, of Vermont; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson, Dominic; her sister, Melanie Toothaker of Madrid; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was predeceased by her son, William “Ben” Barker; two great-grandsons; and her brother-in-law, Leland Toothaker. Condolences may be sent for the family at www.adamsmcfarlane.com.
