Mes Amis, a gypsy/jazz ensemble featuring Steve Lynnworth, Harry Richter, Wells Gordon and Shane Ellis will be appearing at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 26 as part of “Music for Mavis Tuesday’s at the Gazebo.” The music of Mes Amis is infectious, appealing to listeners young and old alike, with a driving rhythm, infectious melodies and exotic harmony all played on acoustic instruments. Lynnworth cut his teeth sitting in with teacher and mentor Ronnie Earl in blues clubs in and around Boston. On rhythm or lead guitar is Lynnworth’s friend Richter, who has an encyclopedic knowledge of Django. Gordon rounds out the trio on acoustic bass, bringing years of professional experience and a deep appreciation for “Hot Club” music. Suggested donations of $5 to $10 go to pay the musicians.
