NORWAY — Two vehicles went off the road Sunday when they sideswiped, sending three people to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, police said.

Cpl. Mitch Shaw said Brandon Lessard, 16, of Oxford was driving down Lake Road at 9:30 a.m. when he looked away for a moment and swerved into the opposite lane, sideswiping the oncoming vehicle.

According to Shaw, the other vehicle was driven by Holly Elmer, 34, of Utah, who had her children, a seven-month-old and a 4-year-old, in the back seat.

Elmer and her children were taken to Stephens Memorial Hospital for observation, but did not sustain serious injuries, Shaw said.

Both vehicles were heavily damaged.
