LEWISTON — The Scrappy Women Quilters, Kitsie Claxton, Eileen Fair, Linda, Matzen, Wendy Mitchell and Patty Weidler, have crafted a log cabin lap quilt to benefit The Center for Wisdom’s Women.
The group designed and handcrafted the top, which was then quilted by Betsy Dorr at Quiltessentials. They have named it Hearth Spring in honor of the Center’s intention to create a home and recovery community for women survivors of trauma called Sophia’s House.
The drawing will take place at the Center’s annual fall event “Wise and Strong Women Speak” in October.
Tickets are $2 each, three for $5, and seven for $10.
The quilt will be on display and tickets will be sold at The Vault on Lisbon Street during the Friday Art Walks in Lewiston on July 29, Aug. 26 and Sept. 30. It will also be at the farmers’ market later in the summer and at other community events.
Tickets are also available at the Center and from members of the board of directors.
