YMCA Fitbit Challenge during August
LEWISTON — YMCA of Auburn-Lewiston is holding a Fitbit challenge from Monday, Aug. 1, to Wednesday, Aug. 31.
Members must have a FitBit to participate. Cost is $10, and registration is required.
The person with the most steps will win 50 percent of the proceeds. The other 50 percent will go toward buying new software and equipment for the Y’s school-age STEM curriculum and Digital Discovery Lab.

Garden to Table cooking class
LEWISTON — The Ark & Olive Branch Cafe will hold a Garden to Table cooking class with nutritionist Cheryl Farley from Ready Set Go Healthy! at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2, at 791 Lisbon St.

Lots to Garden serving dinner
LEWISTON — St. Mary’s Nutrition Center will host its annual Community Dinner at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 4, at 208 Bates St.
The Lots to Gardens Summer Youth Gardeners will cook up fresh local food in celebration of all the hard work and community service accomplished this season. Those invited include everyone who has volunteered, participated or supported the St. Mary’s Nutrition Center, Lots to Gardens and the St. Mary’s Food Pantry, as well as anyone in the community who is interested in learning more about the organization.
The dinner will be preceded by a brief presentation by the youth gardeners.

Teddy Bear Scramble registration
GRAY — The 11th annual Teddy Bear Scramble for the Children’s Dyslexia Center of Portland will take place Wednesday, Aug. 24, at Spring Meadows Golf Club on Route 100.
Cash prizes and door prizes will be awarded.
Sign up is from 7 to 8 a.m. The shotgun start will be at 8:15 a.m. followed by luncheon and awards.
