If the Lewiston-Auburn Transit Committee gives the green light today, shoppers will be able to bus around the mall district here for a three-month trial run from October through the Christmas season. The proposed weekday-only routes total 143 miles a day, costing the Mexico-based, non-profit Western Maine Transportation Service Inc. a projected $1.30 a mile. WMTS gets the $1 riders are charged, or 75 cents for senior citizens and students of Central Maine Technical College, who would be included on the evening route.
