MT. VERNON — Funeral services for Ruth Flewelling of Mt. Vernon were held Thursday, Aug. 4, at 11 a.m., from the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church with the Rev. Jay Wilson officiating. Irene Wadleigh was the organist.

The opening prayer was written by one of her great-granddaughters, Faith Michaud. The hymns and Scripture readings, chosen by Ruth, were “In The Garden,” Psalm 121, “Rock of Ages,” Psalm 23 and “The Old Rugged Cross.” The message was titled, “A Model of Commitment,” based on a reading from Micah 6:8.

Committal services followed at the Mt. Vernon Community Cemetery on the North Road. Pallbearers were Waine Whittier, Jason Cote, Josh Robbins, R.J. Blaisdell, Bill Elliot and Dale Larsen. Following services, a comfort reception was held at the Mt. Vernon Community Center.

Arrangements were under Wiles Remembrance Center, 137 Farmington Falls Road, Farmington.
