LEWISTON — Raymond Martel, owner of Spiller’s in Lewiston, will be guest speaker at the L-A Rotary Club from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, at the Ramada Inn.

Martel has been a Rotarian since 1982, embarking on a sales position for Spiller’s in 1978. He was named general manager in 1980 and vice president in 1982. Martel purchased the company in 1984.

In 2002 the company expanded throughout New England with four locations. During that time, he and his wife Rhonda founded RGM Leasing in 1986.

In 2007, he established AEM Self Storage. He is a past president and a Paul Harris Fellow. He has served as sergeant-at-arms, on the board of directors, scholarship chair, and on the Vocational Service Committee.

Martel has numerous affiliations with civic activities, including Marcotte Nursing Home Finance Committee, St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center, Youth Hockey, Junior Achievement, the Chamber of Commerce, Lewiston Development Corp., Holy Cross School, St. Dominic Academy, Central Maine Community College, United Way, and the Lewiston-Auburn Economic Growth Council.
