LIVERMORE — Selectpersons on Tuesday awarded contracts for roadside mowing and a capital improvement project on a section of River Road.
Earlier this year, the board voted to seek a three-year bid for the mowing that would be renewable annually. Several inquiries were made, but only one mowing bid was received.
The board awarded the contract to Richard Crocker, who has done the mowing for several years. He will receive $3,200 per year.
The board also awarded a $308,100 contract to Bruce A. Manzer Inc. for the River Road project. A section of the road was rebuilt last year. Another section of the road, on the opposite side of the Strickland Ferry intersection, will now be improved.
Several companies expressed interest in the project, but Manzer’s was the only bid received.
In other business, the board agreed to cancel the order for a security camera system that has been on back order for months. Administrative Assistant Amy Byron and Highway Foreman Roger Ferland will research what is available that will meet the town’s need.
Ferland said the town garage only needs two cameras. The cameras are expected to cost $500 or less.
