HEBRON — The 31st annual reunion of the Warren family was held at Hebron Pines on Sunday, July 17.
The gathering of the descendants of the late F. Milton and Verlie Warren drew 178 people from Auburn, Augusta, Bath, Buckfield, Gorham, Greene, Hebron, Jay, Leeds, Lisbon, Lisbon Falls, Monmouth, Portland, Sumner, Turner, Wells and Winthrop; Deering, New Hampshire; Brockton, Massachusetts; West Bridgewater, Massachusetts; and Oberlin, Ohio.
Those who traveled the farthest were the family of Heidi Warren Vayda of Oberlin, Ohio.
Esther Robinson was the oldest member in attendance. The youngest was Andrea Marie Robinson, born March 21, 2016, to Virginia and Dean Robinson.
During the past year, the family celebrated three weddings, four births, one adoption, seven high school graduations and five college graduations.
During the reunion, two essays on the subject of the importance of family written by high school graduates Anna Warren and Marcus Allen were read aloud. Each of these college-bound students received a gift of $125.
After a brief business meeting, several family members shared memories of Walter Warren and Dale Meggison, who passed away in the past year.
Helen Hadley read a short story titled, “Christmas in July.”
Marie Allen sang, “Ain’t No Man.”
The annual fundraising auction was conducted by Abe Additon.
A quilt made by Mary Grant and friends was sold for $500. This was the 19th in a series of quilts.
A braided rug made by Beryl Robinson sold for $225.
The total family count to date is 447.
Next year’s reunion will be held Sunday, July 16, 2017, at Hebron Pines.
