1936 – 2016

WETUMPKA, Ala. — Robert Edward “Bob” Wellander, 79, affectionately known as “Papa,” a resident of Wetumpka, Ala., passed away Wednesday, Aug. 3.

He was born Nov. 14, 1936, in Lewiston. He was a 1955 graduate of Edward Little High School in Auburn.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years, Doris “Nana” Wellander; sons and daughters-in-law, Scott Wellander (Lisa) and Mark Wellander (Melissa); nine grandchildren, Brandon Wellander (Morgan), Andy Wellander (Brooke), Kristen Wellander, Jordan Wellander, Morgan Lauck, Sierra Lauck, Ashton Ordis, Jared Ordis (Brittany) and Erika Knight (Jeffrey); five great-grandchildren; sister, Janet Irish (Joel) of Turner; sister-in-law, Virginia Cormier of Windsor, Conn.; several nieces, nephews and a host of other family members and friends.
