1971 – 2016

LEWISTON — Robert J. Riley Jr., “Bob,” “Bobby,” 45, of Dixfield died unexpectedly of natural causes at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston on Monday evening, Aug. 8.

He was born April 29, 1971, in Peekskill, N.Y., a son of Robert John and Patricia (Boneillo) Riley Sr. He received his education at Ridgewood High School in Newport Richey, Fla.

Bobby happily made his home in Dixfield where he served his community as a volunteer firefighter. He was the owner of MTPockets Inc. of Dixfield and was a member of the American Towman Association. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed ice-fishing, fishing, hunting and was a member of the local ATV and snowmobile clubs. Typically, wherever you saw Bob, you saw his best buddy, his dog, “Tank.”

He is loved by his wife, Theresa (Desroches), whom he married July 25, 2009, in Lewiston, of Dixfield; his mother, Patricia Bassett and her husband, Russell, of Barrington, N.H.; son, Robert J. Riley III and his wife, Marissa, of Harrison; daughters, Brittany Riley and Katlin Riley, both of Standish; son, Jason LaPointe and his wife, Justeen, of Mexico; daughter, Monica LaPointe and her companion, Peter Cyr, of Lewiston; father-in-law, Edward Desroches of Dixfield; his five grandchildren (the “treasured gifts” and hopeful promises of his life), Jakob LaPointe, Jared LaPointe, Zoe Cyr, Gracelyn Riley and Sky Cyr; his siblings, Michael Morganstean, Michele Ring, Kelly Avery, Tiffany Brownell, Kimberly Griffin, Heather Griffin, Justin Bassett, Kayla Bassett, Jeremy Bassett and Tyler Bassett; nine nieces; five nephews; and friends spanning all ages, near and far.

He was predeceased by his dad, Robert J. Riley Sr.
