LISBON FALLS — The Lisbon United Methodist Church will host the Neighbors-Helping-Neighbors 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, Sept. 17, at 14 School St.

The 5K will raise money for the Lisbon Area Christian Outreach Food Bank, a volunteer operation governed by members of several local churches. Volunteers from the community, local schools and organizations help with food collection and distribution, serving hundreds of families in need throughout the year.

The church is hoping to make this an annual event and invites athletes and non-athletes to be a “neighbor” and sign up to run or walk in support of the program. 

Childcare and children’s activities, including face-painting, a fun run and games, will be available.

Cost is $25 per person. Those who register by Wednesday, Aug. 31, will receive a T-shirt.

Check-in begins at 8 a.m., and the race begins at 8:30 a.m. rain or shine.

Local businesses and non-runners/walkers are welcome to support the event as sponsors.
