1935 – 2016

AUBURN — On Wednesday, Aug. 10, the Lord extinguished her pain and suffering and welcomed her into the peace and tranquility of His home. Jeanne Pomerleau was 80 years old.

Born to Ovilda and Noreen Pellerin in 1935, she attended schools in Lisbon and Mechanic Falls. She graduated from Mechanic Falls High School in 1953.

She married Lawrence Pomerleau in 1954 and through good times and bad, they have shared their lives with each other for more than 62 years. Together they brought four children into this world, Donald Pomerleau, Darlene (Pomerleau) Sirois, Laurie (Pomerleau) Smith and Steve Pomerleau. In these children they instilled the values of frugality, strong work ethics, compassion, and love.

Besides raising her four children, Jeanne worked for a number of years at Bon An Shoe, Jones & Vining and Tambrands where she retired from in 1998.

Jeanne is survived by her husband, Lawrence Pomerleau, her children Donald and Tanis Pomerleau, Darlene (Pomerleau) Sirois and her partner, Ed Leitzinger, Laurie (Pomerleau) Smith and her husband, Michael, Steve and Julie Pomerleau, her grandchildren, Luke Pomerleau, Nick Pomerleau, Andrea Pomerleau; her great-grandsons, Justin and Preston; her sisters, Marilyn Robert, Loretta Perry; her brother, Art; her predeceased brother, Gordon (Buzzy); and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins .

For those of us who were fortunate enough to know her, Jeanne’s spirit will live on through our memories of her kind hearted nature, sense of humor and family values. For a select few, the memories of “Three Little Fishies” will forever bring tears and immortalize her memory.

Rest in Peace Mom and know that you are well loved and will always be carried in our hearts.

The family also wishes to thank the staff of both St. Mary’s Hospital and the Androscoggin Hospice House for the dedicated and compassionate care they provided Jeanne during her transition to Heaven.
