FALMOUTH — Police say an officer found a 67-year-old man in a pool of blood next to his car in the Falmouth Wal-Mart parking lot early Monday morning.
Police say an officer was patrolling the area when he found the man around 3:30 a.m.
The man appeared to be stabbed, according to Lt. John Kilbride.
Lt. Kilbride says it is not clear if the wounds were self-inflicted or if the man was the victim of an assault.
The man was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland with serious injuries.
His name has not been released.
Police say the investigation is ongoing.
