LEWISTON — Those interested in a career as a certified nursing assistant have the chance to sign up for interviews and testing for the fall CNA program at Lewiston Adult Education.

All students must take the Comprehensive Adult Student Assessment System exam and interview before they can be considered for the program. Exam and interview dates are at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23, and 4 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24.

The CNA course focuses on nursing theory and application, including basic anatomy and physiology. Once students finish the classroom portion of the course, they will participate in a full-time two-week clinical experience at local hospitals and nursing homes.

Classes will be from 4 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays beginning Sept. 13.

The program costs $975 with a $145 test fee.
