1931 – 2016
AUBURN — Virginia L. Howe, 84, of 440 Minot Ave., Auburn died on Wednesday, Aug. 10, at Clover Manor Health Care Facility following a short illness.
She was born in Lewiston on Oct. 24, 1931, the daughter of the late Winslow D. and Ellen (Carroll) Moore and had been a resident of this community all of her life. She was educated in Auburn schools and was a graduate of Edward Little High School, Class of 1949.
She married Russell M. Howe on Aug. 9, 1951, and he died on Feb. 26, 2011. She was a homemaker and a housekeeper at Clover for many years. Virginia was a member of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary.
She is survived by two daughters, Marjorie Ellen Howe and her husband, Neil Brown, of Norway, and Marilyn Reynolds of South Paris; two grandchildren, Shawn Casey and his wife, Becca, of Falmouth, and Roseanne Reynolds of Oxford; and two great-grandchildren, Clayton O. Casey and Chloe Casey.
She was predeceased by a sister, Arlene Brooks.
