The Re “New” Wall Committee of Auburn invites the public to attend the South Main Street Mural Dedication ceremony at the Great Falls School lawn on Academy and High streets Aug. 24. The 600 Auburn children and adult volunteers who painted the mural will be recognized and presented awards of appreciation, and the mayor, Richard Trafton. The retaining wall on South Main ‘street was an eyesore, marred with grafitti, until the 700-foot mural was painted. The community’s joint venture transformed the wall into a work of art depicting scenes of “Maine, the Way Life Should Be.”
