1936 – 2016

AUGUSTA — Avis M. Arsenault, 80, formerly of Swift River Road, Mexico, and lifelong resident of the River Valley was reunited with her beloved husband, Henry, on Friday, Aug.  19.

She was born in Rumford on Feb. 23, 1936, a daughter of Marshall and Bertha (Hopkins) McMillan.

Avis was educated in Rumford schools and was a graduate of Stephens High School, Class of 1955.

She was employed as a sales clerk at J.J. Newburry’s, W.T.Grants and Mammoth Mart.

Avis was a communicant of Parish of the Holy Savior and attended St. Theresa’s for many years.

She loved cooking, quilting, gardening, doing crafts, playing cards, camping and trips to the casino; most of all she loved spending time with family.

Surviving are her children, Mark A. Arsenault and wife, Lisa, of Mexico, Laurie Tilton and husband, Harvey, of Carthage, and Andrea Nadeau and husband, Andrew, of Windsor; a brother, Ernest McMillan of Woburn, Mass.; six grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Henry J. Arsenault on May 17, 2016; and a brother, Roland McMillan.
