1925 – 2016
WEST PARIS — Mildred L. Henry, 91, of Hartford died Thursday, Aug. 18, at the home of her daughter in West Paris with both daughters at her side.
She was born in Hartford on April 26, 1925, the daughter of Percy and Mable Davenport. She attended Hartford school and married Robert F. Henry in 1947. She worked in a shoe shop in her early years and was a mother and homemaker most of her life. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles and playing cards every night. She also enjoyed living on the farm and doing a lot of canning.
She is survived by her sons, Stanley Henry and wife, Marilyn, of New Gloucester and John Henry of Turner; daughters, Betty Young and husband, Carl, of West Paris, and Donna Darling and husband, Michael, of Sumner; son-in-law, James Young of Buckfield; sister-in-law, Vivian Fields; brother-in-law, Jerald Henry; grandchildren, Ron Henry of New Gloucester, Joe Young of Buckfield, Becky Kuvaja of Greene, Pam Young of West Paris, Sam Young of West Paris, Jodie Henry of Farmington, Jessica Henry of Saco, Jamie Gammon of Poland, Jenna Henry of Buckfield, Michael Darling Jr. of Wayne, Heidi Darling of Hartford, Brianna Darling of Auburn and McKayla Darling of Sumner; 21 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Ed and Rose Martin of Hartford.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert in 1994; a daughter, Dorothy Young in 2009; brothers, Delmont Davenport and Lawrence Davenport; sisters, Ethelyn Hall and Wilma Davenport; half-brothers, Clint Fields and Harry Fields; and half-sister, Marion Richardson.
