Daughters of Union Vets meeting

PARIS — The Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War, Hannah F. Richardson Tent 19 of Stoneham, will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25.

The last meeting was held at Kim Hausen’s home in Paris. Two new members received their membership badges.

The group decided to have future meetings at the First Baptist Church on Paris Hill, which is wheelchair-accessible.

Oxford teen center to re-open

OXFORD — The Rock House Teen Center will reopen from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26, at 254 Webber Brook Road.

The center closed temporarily on May 13 due to lack of funding and volunteers. 

The center is free for teens ages 11 to 18 who would like to take part in activities

Oxford Advent holding yard sale

OXFORD — The Oxford Advent Christian Church will have its annual yard sale from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Aug. 26 and 27, on Route 26. 

All proceeds will benefit the church’s missions.

Warrior Salute mud run

OXFORD — The fourth annual Warrior Salute mud run will be Saturday, Aug. 27, at Oxford Mud Runs.

There will be prizes, raffles, mud runs, a rock-crawling course and show and shine.

Friends Together seeks sale items

LIVERMORE FALLS — Friends Together Peer Support and Recovery Center is seeking donations for a yard sale that will be held during the Apple Pumpkin Festival Saturday, Sept. 24. 

Donations, excluding clothing, may be dropped off at 31 Park St. next to the fire station. If no one is at the center, items may be left at the back door. 

Teal Ribbon 5K to run out sexual violence

FARMINGTON — Franklin County’s Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Services and the community will run (or walk) sexual violence out of the community with the third annual Teal Ribbon Run/Walk 5K on Saturday, September 10th.

Registration will begin at 9 a.m. at The Holman House at 227 Main St., and the 5K will start at 10 a.m.

Those who register before Wednesday, Aug. 31, will receive a free t-shirt. The registration fee is $15; after Aug. 31, the fee will be $20. Children 12 years and younger can participate for free.

Registration may be completed online or checks may be mailed payedable to SAPARS with “Teal Ribbon Run” in the subject line.
