1962 – 2016

LEWISTON — James Raymond Richard, 54, of Lisbon Falls died peacefully surrounded by his loving family Monday, Aug. 15, at Central Maine Medical Center.

He was born Aug. 2, 1962, in Waterville, a son of Raymond Richard and Jane Behringer Richard.

James grew up in Waterville and in 1981 graduated from Waterville High School. Shortly after graduating, he was married to his high school sweetheart, Lela Madore Richard. Together they shared 33 years of love, laughter and marriage. They had two sons, Michael Richard and Peter Richard, of whom they were very proud.

In 1990, James and Lela opened Fast Breaks together, which has become a staple of the Lewiston community. James also had a lifelong enjoyment of sports and coached youth hockey, youth baseball and Lisbon High School hockey for as long as his health could manage.

James is survived by his wife, Lela Madore Richard of Lisbon Falls; sons, Michael Richard and Peter Richard, both of Lewiston; grandchildren, Isabelle Richard and Dagan Richard of Lewiston; brothers, John Richard of Vassalboro, and David Richard and his wife, Angela, of Vassalboro; and sister, Susan Leighton and husband, Michael, of Orrington.

He was predeceased by his parents.
