National Alliance on Mental Illness Western Mountains Affiliate, which serves individuals and family members in Oxford and Franklin counties affected by mental illness, has announced events and courses for September and October.

NAMI Family to Family Education Course — Norway: Thursday, Sept. 1. This course is for families, friends and caregivers of persons living with mental illness. FMI: 207-514-3720, 207-418-8349.

Spaghetti supper and Chinese auction: 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, at the Calvin Lyons Hall in Mexico. This is a fundraiser for the Western Mountains team participating in the annual NAMI Maine walk.

NAMI Family to Family Education Course — Harrison: Wednesday, Sept. 21. FMI: 207-583-8054.

NAMI Family to Family Education Course — Farmington: Thursday, Sept. 22, at Franklin Memorial Hospital. FMI: 207-418-7904.

NAMI Maine Walk Fundraiser: Sunday, Sept. 25, at Southern Maine Community College in South Portland. The Western Mountains walk team will take part in the annual walk fundraiser. The team is seeking walkers and donations to help bring NAMI programs and outreach to Oxford and Franklin counties. All funds raised in Maine stay in Maine, and half of funds raised by the affiliate’s team are used to help bring NAMI education, programs and events to this area. NAMI Basics Course: Date to be determined in Rumford. This course is for families with children younger than 18 with mental health problems. FMI: 1-800-464-5767.

Inspiring Minds 10 Module Class: Date to be determined in Rumford. Class is for persons living with mental health issues. FMI: 207-418-7904.
