1946 – 2016

LEWISTON — Steven Ernest Mongeau, 70, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Aug. 23, at Central Maine Medical Center.

He was born in Lewiston on Aug. 13, 1946, the son of John and Barbara (Brown) Mongeau.

Steven graduated from Edward Little High School in the Class of 1964. He was proud to serve in the U.S. Army. In 1991, he married the love of his life, Patricia (Belisle), and they shared a loving marriage of 25 years. Steven worked as an inventory specialist for RGIS and he did that for well over 20 years.

He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 22 and the Sports Project of Lewiston. Steven enjoyed fishing, playing cards and loved to play cribbage, especially with his daughter, Kathy. He was known to enjoy a little bit of gambling. He was a big sports fan and that included any sport at all. Steven was a fan of the Red Sox and the Patriots. When the radio was on, Steven was a big fan of classic rock.

Steven is survived by his mother, Barbara (Brown) Mongeau; his wife, Patricia of Poland; his daughter, Kathy Mongeau of Lewiston; his three stepsons, Frank, Jeffrey and Mark Buiniskas; one stepdaughter, Laurie Knowlton; two sisters, Elaine Bourgoin and Donna Gelinas; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was predeceased by his fFather.
