1946 – 2016
BIDDEFORD — Gerald Normand Elie, of Biddeford passed away at home on Thursday morning, Aug. 25, after a long battle with cancer.
Jerry was born Nov. 17, 1946, and was raised in Lewiston, attended college in Boston, Mass., served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam and later retired from a career at L.L. Bean.
Endlessly optimistic and devoted to his faith, he was well liked and known as a kind and extremely good man.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Jacqueline Elie; his children, Sarah Soare with her husband, Constantin “Rocky” Soare, Jennifer Elie and Matthew Elie. He is also survived by his three sisters, Vivian Richard, Janice Elie and Klaire Magaera; as well as several grandchildren.
