LEWISTON —

, 90, a resident of Livermore Falls, passed away suddenly Sunday, Aug. 28, at Marshwood Center in Lewiston following a brief illness.

She was born Aug. 19, 1926, in Portland, the daughter of William and Myrtle (Houston) Hargadon. She attended school in Portland and was a 1944 graduate of Deering High School. Following graduation she was employed for 28½ years with New England Telephone Co. She married James Potter Jr. on Sept. 29, 1951, and she and Jim owned and operated Potter’s Jewelry Store and Drift-In Card Shoppe in Livermore Falls and Farmington. She later married Thomas Mitchell who passed away in 1980.

She was a past president and publicity chairwoman of Kennebec Council Telephone Pioneers, former member of New Norland Grange, Livermore Falls Senior Citizens, B.P.W. Business Professional Women, Daughters of Isabella, Wonderful Wacky Widows and the Red Hat Society, and a communicant and choir member of St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay.

She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Duguay, and her husband, Mark, of Turner; grandchildren, Desmond Duguay and his wife, Amy, of Turner, Alex Duguay of Connecticut, and Jennifer Duguay of Los Angeles, Calif.; great-grandchildren, Brooks and Remi Duguay; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Alice H. Foley, who passed away Nov. 16, 1989.
