AUBURN — The YMCA of Auburn-Lewiston has announced its September programs for children and adults. All programs take place at 62 Turner St. unless otherwise specified.

The Y’s weekend hours will be 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. beginning Sept. 10.

MS and PD Yoga Workshop: 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 10. Instructor Elizabeth Burd will guide patients and caregivers through a therapeutic yoga session for those with multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease and other movement-related diseases. Class is at Central Maine Medical Center’s Conference Room 1, 12 High St., Lewiston.

Cardio Sport: 10:30 a.m. Saturdays, Sept. 10 and 24. There will be two demonstrations of Cardio Sport, a new group exercise class that uses interval training and compound sports-related movements for a dynamic workout suited to all exercisers.

Field Hockey: Begins Sept. 11. For girls in grades kindergarten to grade eight. Practices and most scrimmages take place at Auburn Middle School.

Youth Swim Lessons: Begins Sept. 12. For infants through age 12. Multiple class times available.

Home School Exercise: Mountains and Wednesdays, Sept. 12 through Nov. 2. Home-schooling families can stay active while making new friends. For ages 4 to 15. Cost is $35 for members, $50 for nonmembers.

Gymnastics: Begins Sept. 13. For children 3½ through teens. Practices take place at the Lewiston Armory.

Lunch & Learn: 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13. “Eating Better on a Budget” with Healthy Androscoggin. Cost is $5 and includes lunch.

Weigh to Go: Begins Sept. 14. Certified Y trainers and nutritionists will help participants shape up and slim down. This eight-week program offers support and education to achieve weight-loss goals. Class is for ages 18 and older. Cost is $50 for members, $75 for nonmembers.

Saturday Art Class: Saturday, Sept. 17. Introduction to water color with Debra Trafton. Open to adults and children. Cost is $15 for members, $25 for nonmembers. Includes supplies.

Twin Cities Swim Team: Registration opens Sept. 19 and practices start Oct. 11. Families are invited to attend an information session at the Y Sept. 29 at 6:30 p.m. Swim Team is for ages 5 to18.

Volunteer Info Session: 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21. For those interested in volunteering at the Y and earning free membership. Pizza and refreshments will be served. RSVP: 207-795-4095.

Pickleball: 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays, noon to 2 p.m. Fridays. This cross between ping-pong, tennis and badminton is a low-impact way to get active. For ages 14 and older. Free to members, $3 drop-in rate for nonmembers.

Open Family Swim: noon to 1:30 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays for current members.

Preregistration is required for most events and programs. Some fees apply, and financial assistance is available for qualifying individuals and families.
