1952 – 2016

AUBURN — Thomas L. Arietti, 64, died peacefully Sunday, Aug. 21, in Auburn, after a brief but valiant battle with cancer.

Tom was born on May 25, 1952, in Springfield, Mass., to Albert and June (Normand) Arietti and grew up in Enfield, Conn. He graduated from Enfield High School in 1970 and served in the U.S. Navy. Tom worked in construction and became a truck driver, taking pride in his safety record and skills as a big rig operator. He also served with the Enfield Police Department Auxiliary, attaining the rank of lieutenant. Tom was an avid baseball and football fan, cheering on both the Boston Red Sox and the New York Jets.

Tom is survived by his three children, Andrea Skidgel and Liz Guite, both of Stafford Springs, Conn., and Thomas Arietti Jr. of Enfield, Conn., along with two grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Deborah Arietti of Kennebunk; and twin brothers, Ricardo Arietti of Auburn, and Renzo Arietti of Somers, Conn.

He is preceded in death by his parents.
