CODA Chorus beginning rehearsals

WINTHROP — CODA Chorus will start fall rehearsals for its Christmas concert at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, at the Winthrop United Methodist Church.

Regular rehearsals will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays.

New singers are welcome, previous choral experience is not necessary, and there will not be auditions. 

The chorus will be led by director Joelle Morris and accompanist Rebecca Caron.

Homeschooling Meet-Up at APL

AUBURN — Area homeschoolers are invited to meet other homeschooling parents and their children from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesdays in the Maggie Trafton Program Room at the Auburn Public Library, 49 Spring St. 

The first meeting is Sept. 6.

Christina Helms, local homeschooling parent, will lead this informal group. This is an opportunity for children to interact with other children and for parents to find support from each other.

AUBURN — The Alzheimer’s Association Maine Chapter will discuss the Volunteer Scribes Program at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7, at the Auburn Public Library, 49 Spring St.

In this free program, college students interview and write the life stories of persons living with dementia. In turn, participants help educate future health care professionals about Alzheimer’s disease by sharing their stories.

Danville Junction Grange to meet

AUBURN — Danville Junction Grange will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8.

The program will be a planning session for the ensuing year. Refreshments will be served at the close of the meeting. All members and guests are invited to attend.

Members with membership applications should bring them to this meeting, as Degree Day for new members is Sunday, Sept. 18, at West Minot Grange.

Members are reminded to bring their clipped coupons for troops.

Pine Cone Chapter to meet

AUBURN — Pine Cone Chapter 26, Order of the Eastern Star, will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, at the Masonic Hall, 1021 Turner St.

The chapter will honor all past and present district deputy grand matrons and special honors to Eleanor Peterson, district deputy grand matron for District 4.

Microsoft Word classes at APL 

AUBURN — Auburn Public Library will offer Microsoft Word classes Fridays in September.

Participants can increase their job skills by learning how to use Microsoft Word to create, organize and manage professional documents.

Space is limited for this series of free classes and preregistration is required. Registrants must attend at least three of the four classes.

Classes are from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Fridays, Sept. 9, 16, 23 and 30 at 49 Spring St.
