Swingin’ Bears to dance Sept. 10
PARIS — Swingin’ Bears Square Dance Club will hold a dance from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, at the Oxford Hills Middle School, 100 Pine St.
Walter Lougee will call a mainstream and plus dance, and Carol Arsenault will cue.
Refreshments will be available at 8 p.m. and through the evening. There will door prizes and a 50/50 drawing.
Admission is $7 per person, and non-dancers are welcome at no charge.

AHCH celebrating 50th anniversary
BRIDGTON — Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice will celebrate its 50th anniversary from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 12, at the Magic Lantern, 9 Depot St.

Maine Savvy Caregiver 1 Training
LEWISTON — SeniorsPlus announced that Savvy Caregiver 1 training is scheduled in Androscoggin County.
For those caring for a family member with dementia, this training will teach how to take care of themselves, reduce stress and also communicate more easily with the loved one. Facilitated by Valerie Cole, this is a six-week workshop with each session lasting two hours.
This class is free but preregistration is required. Classes will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Mondays, Oct. 17 to Nov. 21, at the SeniorsPlus Education Center, 8 Falcon Road.

Annual duck race postponed
OXFORD — Oxford Recreation Center’s annual duck race has been postponed due to shallow water conditions.
The event will be held next spring.
Archery safety class at SAD 44
BETHEL — SAD 44 Continuing Education will offer a hunter safety course for archery.
The course will provide students with knowledge regarding equipment, proper hunting methods, responsibilities and general safety. Most classes will have outdoor exercises.
Classes will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16, and 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 25, in the Telstar High School library. Students must attend both days in order to receive certificates. Passage of a final exam is required.
Class is limited to 25 students, and the cost is $10 per person.

McAlister/McAllister reunion
PARIS — The McAlister/McAllister Family held its 14th family reunion on Aug. 14 at the First Baptist Church of Paris on Paris Hill.
The meeting was called to order by former President Donald Farr. Officers elected were Dawn Tucker, president; Kevin Farr, vice president; Guy McAlister Jr., treasurer; Marilyn Jones, secretary; and Dianna Churchill, Haley Hansler and Donald Farr, trustees.
The reunion cake was cut and served by Guy McAlister III. The 50/50 raffle was won by Debbie Sturtevant, who returned her winnings to the Family Reunion fund.
There was a suggestion to meet every year instead of every other year, which will be decided later. The time and place for the next reunion is to be announced.
