EL CAJON, CALIF. — Esther L. Andrews, 90, of Lower Sumner Hill Road, Sumner, passed away on Monday, Aug. 29.

She was born in Hartford, the daughter of the late Elwood and Ida Dunn. She graduated with honors from Leavitt Institute in 1944. On June 18, 1944, she married the late Chester A. Andrews Sr. at the East Sumner Church. After her husband’s military service ended, they spent most of their 50 plus years of marriage and raising their family in the town of Sumner and were actively involved in their church. After her husband’s death in 1994, she remained a resident of Sumner until her death. As a widow, she continued being involved in church ministries and serving her Lord, Jesus Christ whom she accepted as her Savior at age 12. Her favorite Bible verse was John 3:16.

She is survived by three daughters, Ida Page, Dorothy Libby and Cheryl Star; seven sons, Craig, Chet, David, Dale, Ben and George Andrews and Barry Trask. She is also survived by 100 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
