1933 – 2016
AUBURN — Annette M. (Perron) Richards, 83, a lifelong resident of Jay, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side Friday, Sept. 2, at Schooner Estates in Auburn where she lived with her husband.
She was born Jan. 30, 1933, in Chisholm, the daughter of Aurelien Perron and Florence (Simoneau) Perron. She was a 1951 graduate of Jay High School, where she was a member of the Breezes Staff and Glee Club, and participated in cheerleading, basketball and softball, receiving her Jay Club “Letter.” Annette was known in school for pulling tricks on her classmates and was named the joker of Room 8.
On Feb. 9, 1952, at St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay, she married her husband of 64 years, Gerard “Zeke” Richards. Annette worked throughout the years cleaning the offices at International Paper in Jay and the Androscoggin Mill. She was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and following her grandchildren’s sporting activities. Annette was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and she will be greatly missed by her family.
She is survived by her husband, Gerard “Zeke” Richards of Auburn; sons, Kenneth Richards and his wife, Rhonda, of Wilton, James Richards, John Richards and Steve Richards and his wife, Anne Marie, all of Jay; her daughter, Kathryn Rousseau and her husband, Tom, of Monmouth; 10 grandchildren, Kris Rousseau, Tony Rousseau, Aerica Girard, Justin Richards, Jeff Richards, Coley Poliquin, Randi Thompson, Cameron Richards, Maggie Parquette and Tyler Richards; 11 great-grandchildren, Alayna and Aedan Girard, Khloe, Harper and Cullan Richards, Josephine and Sam Thompson, Eris and Acadia Cloutier, and Kai and Jace Rousseau; sisters, Jeannine Williams and her husband, Jim, of Livermore, Vivian Flagg of Brandon, Fla., Claudette Warren of Fayetteville, Ark., and Pauline Barrutia of Mountain Home, Idaho; and her brother, Paul Perron and his wife, Judy, of Parsippany, N.J.; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
She was predeceased by her parents; and siblings, Roger Perron, Aline Fawcett and Rejeanne Paradis.
