Gov. Paul LePage is free to use, in private, whatever language he wants to express his thoughts. But when he is speaking or writing in public, as Maine’s governor, he should remember the many parents and teachers who try every day to teach children to be respectful, decent citizens.
LePage’s recent outburst, one of many, using foul language and exhibiting disrespect of elected officials only undermines the efforts of responsible adults.
Republican Rep. Randy Greenwood, who represents Monmouth, Litchfield and Wales, has yet to speak out condemning those outbursts as being completely out of line for public officials.
I hope that Rep. Greenwood joins with many others, Republicans and Democrats, against the governor’s disgraceful behavior. Greenwood has sent many mailings to his constituents recently. I would like to see a mailing that lets people know what he thinks of the governor’s behavior.
