Sabattus Democratic Committee to meet

SABATTUS — The Sabattus Democratic Committee will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 12, at the Sabattus Town Office.

The special guest will be Nicholas Gayton, candidate for House District No. 57. A representative from the Androscoggin County Sherriff’s Office will also be in attendance to address the illegal drug problem in Maine.

Vendors sought for craft fairs 

LEWISTON/SABATTUS — The annual Christmas in October will be held Oct. 7 and 8 at the Dominican Sisters’ Convent at 61 Old Lisbon Road in Sabattus.

The Loaves and Fishes’ holiday craft fair will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, at the Cavalier Hall, 855 Lisbon St., behind Staples, in Lewiston.

Vendor tables at each fair can be reserved for $30. Vendors can set up that day as early as 7 a.m. Table reservations must be made by Please reserve your table no later than Friday, Sept. 16.

There will be only one specialty vendor per product. The tables are 8 feet and will have chairs.

Bridge Club lists results

LEWISTON — The Lewiston Bridge Club winners at the Lewiston Armory on Aug. 29 were, first place, Dick Allen and Richard Balian; second, Eileen Potvin and Della Starbird; third, Barbara Newcomb and Jim Krainin; and, fourth, Donna Bartlett and Claire Lyons.

Winners of the quarterly club championship on Aug. 30 were, first, Les Buzzell and Tom Goodwin; second, Richard Balian and Paul Clement; third, Marta Clements and Hazel Glazier.

Games are played at 9 a.m. Mondays and Tuesdays in the Seniors’ Room at the Lewiston Armory, 65 Central Ave. A partner is guaranteed, and all bridge players are welcomed.
