WILTON — Residents in several towns can participate in the household hazardous waste collection Saturday, Sept. 10, at the Wilton Transfer Station, 211 Munson Road.
Hazardous waste will be accepted from 9 a.m. to noon. These include items such as cleaners and varnishes.
People from Wilton, Farmington, Byron, Carthage, Dixfield, Mexico, Weld, Peru, Perkins Township, Roxbury, Washington Plantation and Rumford are invited to participate.
Residents must tell attendants which town they are from. Those from the above towns will not have to pay anything, because their towns or solid waste districts are paying, Town Manager Rhonda Irish said.
The site is also a PaintCare transfer station and will take paint from the above communities at no charge, she said.
For more information, contact the Transfer Station or Wilton Town Office at 207-645-4961.
