SOUTH PARIS — Ethel M. Heikkinen, 89, of South Paris, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 7, at Market Square Health Care Center.

Ethel was born in Westbrook on May 16, 1927, a daughter of John J. and Jennie (Tripp) Tracy McCormack. She grew up in Norway and lived the rest of her life in South Paris.

She graduated from Norway High School with the Class of 1946 and married Vaino K. Heikkinen on Nov. 11, 1946. Ethel was a master seamstress, a member of the Finnish American Heritage Society and the Trinity Lutheran Church in South Paris.

Ethel leaves behind her children, Kevin V. Heikkinen and his wife, Linda T. Heikkinen, Vilene J. Farina and her husband, John J. Farina, Karla H. Bracy and her husband, Joseph S. Bracy II; grandchildren, Kyle G. McKenna, Jared K. McKenna, Brek L. Heikkinen, Lauren M. Heikkinen, Kara L. Billings; step-grandchildren, Leland E. Billings, Melissa A. Billings, Donald A. Billings, Joel A. Farina; great-grandchildren, Jordan A. McCaul and Niko Koa Bullard; a sister, Rose Kelly; and a brother, John McCormack.

She was predeceased by her husband, who died on Aug. 27, 1992; and her siblings, Larry Tripp, Emily M. Tracy, Sadie Higgins Lamkin, Harry Tracy, Leona Andrews, Jessie Fletcher and Justin Tracy.
