Walk to End Alzheimer’s

LEWISTON — The Alzheimer’s Assocation’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s will take place Saturday, Sept. 17, at Simard-Payne Memorial Park.

Check-in will begin at 8 a.m., a ceremony will begin at 9 a.m., and the walk will take off at 9:30 a.m. The route length is 2½ miles.

The walk is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research.

Steve and the Good Ole Boys

LEWISTON — Fraternal Order of Eagles will host Steve and the Good Ole Boys for a performance from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, at 1327 Sabattus St.

Grange to install officers

AUBURN — Danville Junction Grange will hold its installation of officers at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22. The ceremony will be preceded by a supper at 6 p.m.

State Executive Committee member Victoria Huff and her suite of installing officers will conduct the installation.

Members are reminded to bring clipped coupons for troops.

The installation is open to the public.

Red Cross plans blood drives

PORTLAND — The American Red Cross is urging eligible donors to give blood during National Sickle Cell Awareness Month.

Harvest Reception & Tasting

LEWISTON — The Lewiston Education Fund board of directors has announced the seventh annual Harvest Reception & Tasting will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11, at Fish Bones American Grill, 70 Lincoln St.

The event will feature a five-course dinner, including a beverage. There will be door prizes and a silent auction. Doors will open at 5 p.m. for a cash bar and to socialize.

The event raises money for the Lewiston Education Fund, which provides miniature grants for teachers in Lewiston schools and supports ongoing efforts to fund the endowment to support the organization in the future.

Tickets are $75 per person. A limited number of group tables are available to reserve.
