AUGUSTA — The Maine Health Access Foundation announced that it has awarded $344,000 to 12 organizations from around the state to provide people with the help they need to enroll in health plans offered through Maine’s Health Insurance Marketplace.
These 12 statewide and community-based nonprofits will provide free, local enrollment assistance in communities during the Marketplace open enrollment period from Nov. 1 through Jan. 31, 2017.
Local recipients of Affordable Care Act Marketplace Enrollment Awards are:
• Healthy Community Coalition of Greater Franklin County, $21,333;
• Maine Association of Area Agencies on Aging, $40,000;
• MaineHealth, $29,854;
• New Mainers Public Health Initiative, $13,000;
• Planned Parenthood of Northern New England, $30,000; and
• Western Maine Community Action, $40,000.
