1957 – 2016

LEWISTON — Daniel Armand Marquis, 59, of Ridgewood Avenue died Thursday at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center with his family by his side.

Born in Lewiston April 30, 1957, he was a son of the late Roger and Germaine Landry Marquis. He graduated from Lewiston High School in the Class of 1975 and graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maine at Augusta. Dan was a member of The Prince of Peace Parish at Holy Family Church and worked for Maine Veterans’ Homes, and more currently at North Country Associates, as an accountant. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1975 to 1979 .

He enjoyed kayaking, and spending time with family and friends. He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots, and Boston Bruins. He was interested in family ancestry and reminding cousins of significant dates in our family history. He connected with friends, old and new, and family using various social media. He will be remembered as a loving father, a beloved brother and a loyal friend to many that he met and maintained ties with over the years.

Dan is survived by his daughter, Michelle L. Marquis and her mother, Janet Marquis, both of Lewiston; his sister, Kathy Cyr of Lewiston; his brother Rev. Paul Marquis of Machias; sister-in-law, Linda Howard; and niece, Rachael Howard.

The family wishes to thank the many friends who have sent warm messages of care and consolation during his recent illness, and the great staff of the ICU at Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center, who provided loving and professional care.
