The guest column written by Abdikadir Negeye (Sept. 11) was very nice and a lot of it made sense, but he seems to forget that Somali immigrants are living in a country of their choice. It is up to them to learn the language and adopt the culture.

A lot of other immigrants did that without putting another burden on local school systems.

Let the parents learn English from their children.
