1935 – 2016
LEWISTON — Theresa M. Ellis died peacefully on Thursday, Sept. 15, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family.
She was born in Rumford on Aug. 13, 1935, the daughter of Gerard Boutot and Flora (Golden) Boutot, of Mexico. She had one brother, David Boutot, also of Mexico. She was married to Donald R. Ellis on Sept. 7, 1957. Terry’s husband died tragically in 1970, they had three children, who she raised on her own.
Terry was a member of the Catholic church her entire life and loved St. Phillips Church in Auburn. Until her health started to fail, she attended daily and loved talking with the other attendees who became her friends.
Terry worked at Geiger Brothers in Lewiston for 20 years, until her retirement in 1998.
Terry had spent the last three years living at the Chapman House in Auburn where she was cared for by a loving staff and surrounded by wonderful elderly ladies. She loved animals and her pet poodles meant the world to her. She was a master cribbage player and had an infectious laugh. Terry especially enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved and spoiled her grandchildren. She always looked forward to rides with her son, Jeff, and their poodle to get coffee and doughnuts.
Terry is survived by her three children, her daughter, Cindy Cloutier and her husband, David, of Greene, her son, Jeffrey Ellis of Auburn, and her son, Gerard (Gerry) Ellis and his wife, Wendy, of Turner; two grandchildren, Kerry Hryhor and her husband, Mathew, of Chattanooga, Tenn., and her granddaughter, Emily Ellis of Turner; one great-grandson, Drake Bartley of Greene.
She was predeceased by her husband; both parents;, her brother; and a grandson, Clint Bartley.
