SOUTH MONMOUTH — Deanne M. Getchell, 43, of South Monmouth, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side after a short, courageous battle with cancer on Sunday evening, Sept. 18.
Deanne was born in Lewiston on May 21, 1973, the daughter of Cheryl E. Bubier Genthner and the late Irving L. Getchell Jr. She attended Winthrop schools and graduated from Winthrop High School in 1992. She will be greatly missed by her many friends at the Cobbossee Center in Gardiner and the Cohen Center in Manchester.
She loved going to camp in Brighton, fishing, listening to music, especially Elvis, going to Florida with her mom and spending time with her nieces and nephews. Deanne also loved drinking Coke, going to parties and barbecues, four-wheeling and going for rides in her mom’s Jeep. We will miss her every day with all our hearts.
She is survived by her mom, Cheryl Bubier Genthner of South Monmouth; her “special dad,” Kenneth Mason Sr. of Monmouth; three sisters, Holly Getchell and her companion, Jeffrey Paige, of Poland, Carie Goulet and her husband, Dwight, of Wales and Kimberly Goranson and her husband, Jay, of Topsham; her maternal grandmother, Frances Bubier of South Monmouth; nieces and nephews, Dezerea, Zachery, Gavin, Carissa, Abriella, Makayla, Kaiden, Selene and Marissa; and many aunts and uncles.
She was predeceased by her father, Irving Getchell Jr.; her maternal grandfather, Walter “Bud” Bubier; and her paternal grandparents, Irving Sr. and Agnes Getchell.
The family wishes to express their deepest heartfelt thanks to Diane and Scott Beasley of Monmouth and Alicia Bubier of Wales for all their tender, loving care of Deanne. The family would also like to thank Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at: www.finleyfuneralhome.com.
