VIENNA — A local woman died and her child was injured Wednesday afternoon when her truck left Tower Road, rolled several times and she was ejected, Cpl. Diane Vance of the Maine State Police said Thursday.
Misty McKechnie, 36, was pronounced dead at the scene, Vance said. The accident was reported at 3:25 p.m.
McKechnie’s 3-year-old child was in a child safety seat in the back seat of the cab and was taken by ambulance to Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington with injuries not considered life-threatening, Vance said. She was treated and released and placed with family members, Vance said.
Speed was a factor, Vance said, adding that McKechnic was not wearing a seat belt. The accident remains under investigation.
