Farmers market offering SNAP coupons
GREENWOOD — The Greenwood Farmers Market has announced that beginning Friday, Sept. 30, those receiving Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits will be able to receive up to $10 in special coupons to spend at the market.
Coupons are available at tables at the market, located in the Town Hall on Route 26 in Locke Mills. The market is open from 4 to 6 p.m. every other Friday year-round.

Senior Resource Fair in Farmington
FARMINGTON — SeniorsPlus will host a Senior Resource Fair from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 1, at Mt. Blue High School.
It will feature workshops and information booths that provide support and services for older adults in the Farmington area. Culinary students will provide breakfast.

Into the Woods of fall colors
BETHEL — The Mahoosuc Land Trust will hold its October Into the Woods speaker event at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5, at Gould Academy’s McLaughlin Auditorium. Paul Motts, a retired National Park Service naturalist, will present New England Fall Colors.
Every fall, broad-leaf trees dazzle Maine with a splendor of autumn colors, ranging from the brilliant reds of the red maples to the rusty browns of the northern red oaks. Attendees will discover the hidden secrets for why this annual event occurs and what makes the broad-leaf forests of New England especially appealing.
Lithuanian Heritage Club to meet
RUMFORD — The Lithuanian Heritage Club will meet at noon on Wednesday, Oct. 5, at Sam’s Italian Shop on Route 2.
Black to talk beekeeping, not politics
STRONG — State Rep. Russell Black, R-Wilton, will leave politics in Augusta when he speaks to the Strong Historical Society about beekeeping.
The society will hold its regular meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 5, at the Hammond Memorial House, 79 North Main St.
Doors will open at 5 p.m. for those wanting to tour the house. A potluck supper will be served at 6 p.m., and those attending should bring a dish. A brief business meeting will start at 7 p.m. followed by the presentation.
The public is welcome.
