So, the wheels of justice grind slowly? Like a horse and buggy?

I have seen many a report of a male policeman who was trigger-happy. Shoot first and ask questions later. He is put on paid leave for a prolonged time (for internal review and for numerous detailed investigations) and finally found not guilty or given a slap on the wrist and sent on his way. Forget the grieving family of the unarmed dead victim — too bad for them.

Then in Tulsa, Oklahoma, a female police officer does the same thing. Her name is Betty Shelby. She is immediately placed on unpaid leave and within a week she is charged with first degree manslaughter.

Suddenly, the wheels of justice speed along like the Acela Express.

Haven’t we ladies truly “come a long way, baby?”
