WALES — Lakeside Chapter No. 60, Order of the Eastern Star, will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11, at the Grange Masonic Hall, 322 Centre Road.

The Chapter will celebrate its Landmarks and Obligation with the reading of the Landmarks, the associate conductress’ lecture and renewing the obligation.

Members will also honor the Station of Esther. Grand Esther Gretchen M. Malloch has been invited to the event.

The worthy matron has asked that women officers dress in white gowns to honor the grand esther, and that gentlemen wear black suits or tuxedos.

At the September meeting, District Deputy Grand Matron Eleanor V. Peterson introduced this year’s traveling mascots — Bunnies in a Basket: Jewel and Jayo. They have been at Pine Cone Chapter No. 26 in Auburn and Pioneer Chapter No. 11 in Lisbon Falls.

Once they complete their visit of the district, the chapter with the greatest number of visiting members will take the bunnies home until the next meeting.

Refreshments will be provided after the meeting.

The next meeting will be on Nov. 8, when the Chapter will collect donations for the local food pantry.
