LEWISTON — Lewiston Adult Education will host its annual Fall Super Saturday Oct. 15 at Lewiston High School.
Lunch will be included with all daylong classes.
Alcohol Painting: 9 a.m. to noon. Attendees can try this new form of painting. No art experience is necessary. They should bring two small brushes. All other materials will be provided. Cost is $25 plus $35 lab fee.
Food Truck: 9 a.m. to noon. Discover what it’s like to run a food truck business in this class taught by Randy Smith of Pinky D’s, which makes poutine, french fries, cheese curds and gravy. Smith will serve traditional poutine and newer versions from his food truck. Cost is $13 plus $10 lab fee.
Introduction to Metaphysics and Meditation: 9 a.m. to noon. This class will discuss chakras, the law of attraction and living in the present. It will incorporate the basic principles of meditation to enhance clarity, inner peace and the ability to incorporate this practice into daily life. All are welcome. Cost is $15.
CPR, First Aid and AED Training: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. This course follows the guidelines set forth by the American Heart Association for heartsaver CPR (adult, child, infant and automated external defibrillator). Participants will learn to assess the patient, send someone to call for help and retrieve the AED, and do cycles of compressions and breaths to help save a life. A course textbook and certification card are included as part of the program. This one-day class is designed for non-health care providers. Cost is $75 plus $5 lab fee.
Smartphones and Tablet Devices, Android: noon to 3 p.m. Attendees should bring their hand-held device to class to figure out how to use the tablet or smartphone better. Android devices are welcome. Session includes a brief presentation, Q&A and hands-on work. Cost is $17.

Body Language: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. In today’s fast-paced business environment, employees at all levels find themselves challenged with a constantly shifting workplace, including new diversity challenges where co-workers cope with generational, gender, age and cultural differences. Communication is at the foundation of everything. Communication is a learned skill and can be improved upon with training and self-awareness. Cost is $26 plus $5 lab fee.
Digital Photography: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. This workshop for beginners will teach more about how to use the manual settings on a digital single lens reflex camera, such as the aperture, f-stops, shutter speeds and white balance. It will teach how to make the most of the camera and have more control of which pictures are taken. Students must bring their DSLR with lens to class. Cost is $60 plus $5 lab fee.
Halloween Costume Workshop: Parents and children will work together to create masks in preparation for Halloween. They can decorate with feathers to sparkles on an eye-catching part of a costume. The registration and lab fee for this class will count for a parent and two children. There will be a $5 lab fee for each additional child. Cost is $15 plus $10 lab fee.
Nutrition and Fitness: 9 a.m. to noon. This class is a low-impact workout combined with a stretching session and a conversation on nutrition. This is for people looking to get back into a new, healthy routine. Cost is $19.
