CARRABASSETT VALLEY — There will be a fall foliage worship service and ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, at the new amphitheater on Sugarloaf Mountain.

The amphitheater, nicknamed the AMP, sits at 3,530 feet above sea level just west of the top of the SuperQuad chairlift.

Sugarloaf Christian Ministry will conduct the ceremony, which will utilize the outdoors, be informal and child-friendly.

Attendees should load the SuperQuad lift around 10:30 a.m. for the 15-minute ride up to the AMP. The trail from the top of the lift to the AMP is an easily navigable one-minute walk. A warm jacket is recommended.

In the case of inclement weather, the service will be at 11 a.m. at the Richard Bell Chapel, at base area of the mountain.
